A Brave New (Pulp) World...

Finally got some time to finish the inking, while waiting for a client to call back. What took most of the time was the tiresome cutting and pasting when scanning an A3 illustration with a A4 scanner. Also, some Photoshop-editing was needed since I managed to smear some still wet ink over the picture...

EDIT:

And here with flats. These aren't the actual colours, but they give a hint where we're going:

ANOTHER EDIT: The car starts to take form, bu Neda needs a lot more work...

Frank's bride and maid of dishonor

This is what happens when I can't sleep. I made the Zombie a little friend.

***Edit***

Updated the files as I felt the white parts in the zombies hair looked like maggots. It would have been kinda fitting, but eww anyways.

What's in your heaaad, in your heee-e-eeeaaad

I'm posting this as a sort of a proof of life. Remember the zombie I was making for week two? The ”Something old, something new, something borrowed” mission? The one that was supposed to be a tattoo? Yes, that's it.
Well, in the end it didn't become a tattoo after all and I got this genius idea to make a vector out of the pic. Mainly because I almost never make vector pics and wanted to try it after a long break. That should have also told me that I'd be bloody slow with it, but nooo, I happily started vectoring away. I might finish this some day in the near future. Or not. So just in case it's the latter (and to keep this thing going)I'll post it the way it is now.

Mmm, yeah, this is really not finished so plese don't mind the "blood", I know it looks ridiculous :D
And a close up.
Steps to the pic can be found in my blog

I'm a zombie girl, in a zombie world

This weeks mission was ”Something old, something new, something borrowed”.

I right away thought of zombies. Wouldn't anyone? I mean they're kinda new and old at the same time, being both dead and alive(sort of) plus they borrow bodyparts from other people constantly. See, complitely logical.
Sadly I got the mother of all flu's and my ability to actually do something cool was pretty close to zero. So this week all you're getting is a very quick sketch.

The thing is that this design is not only a sketch for the mission, but also my future tattoo. (See how sneaky I was combining making these two!) And as the future is in fact in the very near future, friday the 26th, I need to finish this pic and fast. So I thought I'd not only post this sketch but also steps to the finished piece as I do them and pics of the tattoo when it's finished. Deal? Good, I'm glad you agree that that's very gracious of me ;D

Maintenance...

So, ”something old, something new and something borrowed”, was it? Hope you can spot which is which (^_^)
I was too tired to draw the essencial mink oil tin can (for the boots). The original work is bl/w, but I just had to play with CS5.

Colored version coming... soonish.

The next mission is...

... interpret freely ”Something old, something new, something borrowed”.  Sketchies, oil paintings, text, anything goes.
